JCSP News Update
December 2011
The JCSP programme is active and running in the school this term.
- 1st year students have started on their 1st JCSP statements and have enjoyed their library time and projects. They worked very hard at the weekly drama classes and presented a wonderful series of sketches at the JCSP Christmas Celebration on the 9th December called "My First Week in St.Enda's". This they wrote themselves and performed it before their parents/guardians, family members and other visitors including our new Chair of the Board of Management. Many thanks to their drama teachers and all other school staff who worked with the students to prepare a display of work which gave a great Christmas feel to the school and the library. Everyone enjoyed the party celebration.
The new JCSP co-ordinator is Mrs Dympna Cremin who replaces Ms. Marion Shanahan who was transferred to Hospital Community School in September. We thank her for her hard work over the previous 3 years.
- 2nd year students are working on their Make-a-Book project and will hope to finish after Christmas. This will be displayed in the annual exhibition in Cork at Easter.
- 3rd year students have already enjoyed their JCSP trip to the Burren sports facility. A good time was had by all. They are working on completing their JCSP statements for their final profiling in April and they will have their JCSP graduation in May.
- I would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers in St.Enda's who work very hard with their junior cycle students on the JCSP programme, working on initiatives, sending out postcards, filling folders and numerous other tasks. The programme wouldn't be such a success without you. Improving educational outcomes for our students is our primary purpose and I thank you for your efforts and professionalism.
